One of the goals of the Native American YesWeCan Foundation is to increase awareness of the plight of Native Americans in the United States. A survey of individuals has found that there is greater knowledge about prehistoric and medieval times than there is about our Nations’ first Americans. More education about Native Americans needs to be done at K-12 schools, but we can educate ourselves by gaining a greater understanding of Native American history and current affairs.
